Bubba Jennings and Jason Sasser will be inducted into the Red Raiders' Basketball Ring of Honor, a distinct honor designated for the most distinguished players in the program.
Texas Tech University will bestow this honor upon them. The two will join a select group of individuals, including Rick Bullock, Andre Emmett, Dub Malaise, and Jim Reed.
Jennings, a standout for Texas Tech from 1980 to 1985, continues to be one of the most prolific scorers in the program's history. He now holds the tenth spot in all-time points with 1,760.
The Dallas Mavericks selected him in the 1985 draft after he was named the Player of the Year for the Southwest Conference and an Academic All-American.
Sasser, a strong force from 1992 to 1996, holds the fourth-most career points in the program's history with 2,102. Before being selected by the Sacramento Kings in the 1996 draft, he was a consensus All-American and led Texas Tech to its most successful season in school history, which ended with a record of 30-2.
The enshrinement ceremony is scheduled for the next season. The official date will be revealed later.
