LUBBOCK, Texas— The Neighborhood Planning Program of the City of Lubbock is inviting residents of the Parkway and Cherry Point neighborhoods to contribute to the development of their community. The initiative aims to engage residents in the development of long-term plans that are reflective of their requirements and aspirations.
Dunbar-Manhattan Heights, Jackson-Mahon, and Arnett Benson are the four neighborhoods selected for the initiative, besides Parkway and Cherry Point. The city's objective is to develop customized programs for each neighborhood that concentrate on concerns such as housing, transportation, safety, and community development.
Wilson Bowling, a Neighborhood Planner for Lubbock, underscored the significance of community engagement to guarantee the program's success. "This feedback is of the utmost importance," stated Bowling. "I am most concerned that I will be working on one of these plans and only five to ten individuals will attend."
Bowling encouraged residents to participate in meetings and offer their input to guarantee that the plan accurately embodies the community's collective vision. The Neighborhood Planning Program is a component of Lubbock's overarching initiative to collaborate with residents and establish a more sustainable and vibrant future for all of its communities.
