Many events are coming up in Lubbock, from music and culture festivals to talks about religion. What's going on in the neighborhood:

Beginning on February 21, Covenant Presbyterian Church will hold a music circle at Covenant Center (4600 48th St.) on the first and third Fridays of every month at 6 p.m. The church invites everyone to join.

You don't need to know how to play the drums before you come. Bring a drum if you have one, or use the water jugs there as instruments. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Hadlie Jo will play a small show in the Lubbock Listening Room on February 21 at Johnny Velvet (2520 34th St.), with special guest Kayla Staley. The show starts at 7:15 p.m., and the doors open at 6:30 p.m.

You can buy tickets at www.lubbocklisteningroom.com for $50 ahead of time or $60 at the door. The experience strengthens the connection between the viewers and the artist, and it includes telling stories. Chef Jeramy Gillilan will prepare hors d'oeuvres, and everyone who comes will receive a handmade poster by Jackalope Creative.

A seminar for Christian men with A free lecture will be held at the Frenship High School Performing Arts Center (902 Dowden Rd., Wolfforth) on February 22 from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. by West Texas Men for Christ, which is led by a former quarterback for Texas Tech.

Cody Hodges, a former quarterback for Texas Tech, and Daniel Ritchie, a preacher and motivational speaker born without arms, now tell his story nationwide.

Kurt Kiser will be the host, and Pastor Josh Ramirez from the Lubbock Dream Center will also talk. You will be given water and coffee. To go, you must sign up at www.wtmenforchrist.com.
