For the 2025–26 season, Florida State women's basketball made a big move by bringing in senior transfer Jasmine Shavers from Texas Tech. Head coach Brooke Wyckoff talked about how happy she was about the addition and praised Shavers' knowledge, ability to score, and competitive edge.
"Jasmine is a dynamic player who brings leadership and a proven ability to perform at a high level," he said. "She’s exactly the type of player we want representing Florida State."
Shavers put together a great resume while she was at Texas Tech. She scored 1,323 points in her career, which ranks her 14th in Red Raiders history. Her junior year stood out because she led her team in scoring and scored 14.9 points per game. She also made 67 three-pointers and stole 55 balls, showing she could play on both court ends.
Shavers brings much experience to a Florida State team full of talented players. She is known for playing aggressively and working well with others. Mari Gerton, Pania Davis, and Solé Williams are also in the 2025 signing class and are all excellent possibilities.
The Seminoles want to bring in experienced players and young stars to build on their recent success. Shavers gives Florida State more ways to score and a guy who can lead by example and immediately help on offense and defense.
Fans can be sure Shavers will make a big difference when she gets to the ACC. She is an excellent addition to a team that wants to fight at the highest level because she is talented, driven, and energetic.
With Jasmine Shavers on board, Florida State is strengthening its team and preparing for a tough 2025–26 season.
