Lubbock High School Athletics Disrupted Again as Strong Winds Postpone Games

This week, Lubbock high school athletics have been disrupted by yet another weather event: another dust storm.

On Friday, competitions were postponed across the South Plains and Panhandle due to a strong dust storm and winds that reached speeds of more than 80 miles per hour. The baseball and softball games that were planned to take place on Tuesday in the district were relocated since the forecast called for severe winds once again.

On Tuesday, at eleven in the morning, Estacado and Lubbock-Cooper Liberty will play a softball game in an effort to overcome the unfavorable weather conditions.

The games for baseball in District 3-5A have been moved to Wednesday. It will be one o'clock when Monterey takes on Plainview. in five o'clock in the afternoon, Lubbock-Cooper will compete in Amarillo Palo Duro, the same time as Amarillo High will compete at Coronado.

The baseball game between Estacado and Liberty was rescheduled to take place on Thursday at 1:30 p.m., according to an announcement made on Tuesday afternoon.
