The National Dance Association (NDA) and the National Cheerleading Association (NCA) College Nationals will be held in Daytona, Florida, on April 9. Texas Tech Cheer will be competing there. The team has been working hard to prepare for this since last year's tournament. From January to March, they practiced early in the morning, pushing themselves to their limits and perfecting their routines.

Bruce Bills, the head coach, was proud of his team and said they were some of the sport's best and most skilled athletes. "They love Texas Tech and do everything they can for this program," he mentioned.

Kolby Kersten, a cheerleader, feels this year's events are extra important. He is playing at NCA College Nationals for the first time, and this is his last game with the Texas Tech large coed team. After 15 years of cheering, Kersten is ready to leave it all on the mat. "All the blood, sweat, and tears of the past 15 years will be over," he said.

As they performed their short but intense 2-minute and 15-second routine, teammates stressed the importance of being precise and giving it their all. According to cheerleader Allee Teague, "you never want to end on a bad rep." There is no stopping us until it feels right.

This is Coach Bill's last word to the team: have fun. "They know I believe in them because they wouldn't be here." I only want them to enjoy the moment, do their best, and have fun.
