The Lubbock Police Department's Major Crash Unit is currently conducting an investigation into a collision that occurred in north Lubbock on Friday morning, resulting in the injuries of three individuals. Upon receiving reports of a two-vehicle collision, officers responded to the accident at Clovis Road and North Detroit Avenue at approximately 10:05 a.m.
Amber Chowning, 41, Dalton Shaffer, 30, and Bryanna Pedroza, 21, were discovered to be involved in the collision by the police upon their arrival. Shaffer was transported to University Medical Center after sustaining life-threatening injuries, and his condition has since been upgraded to stable. Chowning and Pedroza, who sustained minor injuries, were transported to nearby institutions for medical attention.
According to preliminary reports, Chowning was operating an SUV westbound on Clovis Road when she collided with Pedroza's vehicle, which was travelling east. At present, there have been no arrests, and the circumstances that precipitated the collision are still being investigated.
