People in Lubbock are getting increasingly angry that the much-anticipated Tacos and Tequila Festival, which was supposed to happen on April 26 and 27, was canceled. Many people who bought tickets say they still haven't gotten their money back, even though the event organizers said the return process started on February 10.
Misty Tinley King, one of many affected people, said it has been hard to talk to people. "They used to give out an email address, but now they don't let people comment or message them." It's almost hard to find out what's going on with refunds.
Others, like Natalie Beckman, have heard back but are still unsure. She told someone on Facebook about the delays, and two days later, she got an email saying her refund would be handled. Beckman said, "It just seemed strange how quickly they responded after what I said in public."
The event organizers say they are working on refunds and that about half have been handled so far. Customers are told to check their accounts often because bank working times vary. People who bought tickets at Ralph's Records or from resellers need to get their money back from those sellers.
The Tacos and Tequila team has an email address for questions, but because they don't have many employees, reaction times are still slow. As anger grows, ticket holders ask for better communication and faster answers.
