The 8th Annual West Texas Salute (WTS) to Veterans will be held at the American Windmill Museum on Saturday, November 16, 2024, by the City of Lubbock's Veterans Advisory Committee. Through this family-friendly event, veterans and their families are intended to be connected with resources that improve their quality of life.
The WTS will offer valuable information and support regarding VA disability claims, legal aid, VA financing, PTSD resources, service animals, mobility solutions, equestrian therapy, and other topics. Additionally, veterans may acquire information regarding educational opportunities, employment assistance, and local veteran service organizations.
The Lubbock Regional Honor Guard will commence the event with a Color Guard presentation and, thereafter, the playing of service anthems. The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. John Kelly, the Director of Texas State Veterans Cemeteries.
A JrROTC competition featuring six schools from the South Plains, diversions for children, and a complimentary lunch are among the additional activities.
The City of Lubbock is grateful to veterans and their families for their service. It cordially invites them to attend an event at the American Windmill Museum, situated at 1701 Canyon Lake Dr., on November 16. Those who are interested in hosting a kiosk may reach out to Mrs. Evy Bobb at evy.bobb.vfw2466@gmail.com.
