On Wednesday, Oct. 2, Breedlove Foods dispatched a truck carrying 200,000 meals to aid victims of Hurricane Helene, which has devastated the southeastern U.S. The non-profit's shipments will go to hard-hit areas in Georgia and North Carolina, where many survivors are still without power and have lost everything.

“I think everyone’s seen the pictures of the devastation, and it’s heartbreaking to feel helpless,” said Stacy Avalos, Marketing and Mission Engagement Specialist for Breedlove Foods. “It’s extraordinary to be able to do something tangible to help.”

Hurricane Helene, a Category Four storm, has left over 100 people dead and countless others displaced. Breedlove's efforts aim to provide sustenance and hope to those grappling with immense loss. "Bringing hope to these people who have lost so much in the last few days is one of our goals," Avalos added.

The shipment to Georgia is expected to arrive by Friday, with North Carolina's delivery shortly after. “A person’s first need is shelter, and their second need is food,” said Breedlove Foods CEO Bill Miller.

Breedlove Foods has a long-standing reputation for responding to crises, and in this effort, they are partnering with Serve International to deliver critical aid to the affected communities.
