Veterans Day, observed on November 11, commemorates and honors those who have served in the United States military. This year, some Lubbock companies are expressing their appreciation by offering veterans and active-duty military members free meals and discounts.
Applebee's is one of the participating restaurants offering dine-in customers a free dinner from a special menu. Aspen Creek Grill is offering certificates for meals up to $15. BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse provides a free *pizookie* for dine-in and a ticket for a gratis appetizer for a future visit until December 31, 2024.
Buffalo Wild Wings will serve free 10-piece wings and fries, while Cracker Barrel will provide free pancakes all day. Golden Corral invites veterans to a "Thank You" meal beginning at 4 p.m. to close. Krispy Kreme is giving out a coffee and donut, while Little Caesars will offer a free lunch combo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Additional promotions include Outback Steakhouse's Bloomin' Onion or soft drink, Red Lobster's shrimp and chips (dine-in only), and Starbucks' free 12 oz coffee. Wendy's offers a free breakfast combo, while local businesses such as 7 Brew and Scooter's Coffee offer substantial discounts and free drinks.
