During renovations, bridges will be temporarily closed to all traffic, with detours leading drivers to neighboring routes such as 34th and 50th streets. TxDOT has confirmed that the 42nd Street bridge will reopen before the Christmas holiday, minimizing disruption during the busy travel season.
The full project is scheduled to be completed by summer 2025. This endeavor is part of TxDOT's ongoing efforts to keep its transportation infrastructure safe and efficient for both residents and passengers. Drivers are asked to arrange alternate routes and be cautious around construction zones.
