A grand jury in Lubbock County has indicted two individuals who are suspected of being involved in the shooting death of Brittany Blakely, who was 28 years old while she was in February.

Ariyah Jimenez, who is 19 years old, is being charged with manslaughter in the second degree, and Nathaniel Moreno, who is 27 years old, was indicted for intentionally tampering with evidence.

According to the authorities, the shooting took place on February 21 at a residence located on 21st Street, following an altercation that took place between Blakely, Jimenez, and Moreno.

According to the investigators, Jimenez came clean and acknowledged shooting Blakely by mistake after he had consumed methamphetamine. Moreno is accused of destroying necessary evidence, such as clothes that appear to have been stained with blood and the pistol that was used in the shooting.

Both suspects are still being held at the Lubbock County Detention Center, where their bonds have been set at 2.5 million each.
