Preview Night will commence on Thursday, marking the highly anticipated return of the South Plains Fair. Attendees can take advantage of all the traditional fair attractions without incurring any admission or parking fees. Fairgoers will be granted an early preview of the forthcoming week, including carnival activities, thrilling rides, and fried foods.

On Thursday, the grounds were alive with activity as vendors, volunteers, and employees finalized their preparations. Mike Reeves, a devoted fairgoer and a long-standing resident of Lubbock, expressed his enthusiasm for the annual event. Reeves stated, "I have been visiting since I was a child," he added that his annual visit is incomplete without indulging in a specific indulgence. "This year, we have prepared more than 11,000 fried pies," he continued, underscoring that the fair would be incomplete without this iconic treat.

The fair administrators anticipate a substantial attendance this year, even though food and entertainment are the primary themes. "Around 5:00, everyone's kind of leaving," Reeves clarified. "There will be queues at the gate, parking lines, and a constant presence of individuals at the carnival." The fair is poised for another prosperous year, as the air is already electrified with anticipation.

One new attraction this year is certain to captivate the attention of attendees: a sea lion exhibit. Jennifer Wallace, the South Plains Fair's general manager, was enthusiastic about this distinctive addition. Wallace stated, "My objective is to locate an object that is not visible in your backyard." "I am unaware of any individual in Lubbock who has sea lions in their backyard." Therefore, it provides them with an opportunity to interact with a variety of animals.

Mike Reeves urged all attendees to participate in the festivities, stating, "Come on out!" The community's time-honored tradition, the fair, continues to create a sense of excitement and pleasure among individuals of all ages. This year's fair is expected to be an unforgettable experience, with various new features, such as the marine lion exhibit, and beloved favorites like the fried pies.

The South Plains Fair is committed to maintaining its status as a beloved annual tradition as Lubbock prepares for another unforgettable event. This year's fair caters to a wide range of interests, from families searching for entertainment to food enthusiasts anxious to indulge in their preferred treats.
