Dillard’s Flagship Store Opens at South Plains Mall, Celebrates Grand Launch in Lubbock

On Thursday, October 10, Dillard's inaugurated its flagship location at the South Plains Mall in Lubbock. The new store, which is "the most exquisite" that Dillard's has constructed, was described by store manager Clara Ellison. It is home to both adored products and exclusive new items that are not available at other locations.

Dillard's has a long history in West Texas, as it was one of the first department stores to open at the South Plains Mall. The new flagship store has been in the works for years, with discussions ongoing for several years and construction spanning the past year.

Ashley Knox, Senior Marketing Manager at South Plains Mall, stated, "We were able to observe a significant portion of this property, which has been in existence for 52 years, undergo a complete transformation." The grand opening is a significant milestone for the local economy. Knox further stated, "It demonstrates the resilience of our community."

Beth Bridges, the mall's General Manager, underscored the store's economic impact. She stated, "We are an economic engine and a town center for this region."

Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m., the formal opening festivities commenced with the distribution of mystery gift cards valued between $50 and $500 to the first 200 guests. Shoppers have the opportunity to participate in a $1,000 Dillard's purchasing spree throughout the weekend, which serves as an additional celebration of the store's eagerly anticipated opening.
