Lubbock Mayor Mark McBrayer and Councilman Gordon Harris will host a "Coffee with the Mayor" event in District 2 on Wednesday, October 23. The community gathering will commence at 7:00 a.m. at the Mae Simmons Community Center, located at 2004 Oak Avenue.

This monthly event's objective is to promote community engagement by providing residents with the opportunity to interact with the Mayor and their respective Council Representatives. Local issues and attendees' concerns may be addressed in an informal environment.

Mayor McBrayer underscored the significance of open dialogue between city officials and residents, expressing his dedication to establishing connections with citizens in all districts. “Coffee with the Mayor is an opportunity for us to listen and comprehend the needs of our community,” he declared.

The initiative is a reflection of the city's continuous endeavors to improve the transparency and accessibility of local governance. The program endeavors to engage a diverse audience and promote participation from all regions of Lubbock by switching locations and council members monthly.

It is recommended that residents attend and bring their queries or topics for discussion. As the city expands, events such as these are essential in guaranteeing that the voices of the community are taken into account during the formulation of decisions.
