Barry Ballinger and William Fitzgerald, both from Lubbock, are preparing to ascend to the heavens during the 52nd Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, which will take place at Balloon Fiesta Park from October 5 to 13. Ballinger will operate a balloon designated "The Buff," while Fitzgerald will operate "Voyager." This annual event is a highlight for both ballooning enthusiasts and spectators.
Attendees are guaranteed an action-packed itinerary during the Balloon Fiesta. Morning sessions will be conducted from October 5 to 6 and on October 10, 11, and 12, commencing at 4:30 a.m. and concluding at approximately noon. Sessions are scheduled for October 5, 6, 10, 11, and 12 afternoons from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. It is important to note that October 7, 8, 9, and 13 mornings will exclusively feature morning events.
Tickets for general admission are $15, and minors under the age of 12 are admitted free of charge. On October 7, free admission is available to all New Mexico residents who present a utility receipt or identification card as proof of residency.
A diverse array of attractions, including drone light shows, dawn patrols, the "Krispy Kreme" Morning Glow, special shapes rodeos, mass ascensions, chainsaw carving auctions, twilight glows, Team Fastrax™ skydiving performances, and the AfterGlow™ fireworks display, will be featured during this year's festivities.
For those who intend to attend the event, a rideshare drop-off location is off Balloon Fiesta Drive NE. In addition, park-and-ride services are available for enhanced convenience.
