25th Annual Hub City BBQ Cookoff Returns in October

The 25th Annual Hub City BBQ Cookoff is scheduled to take place in October.

The Panhandle South Plains Fairgrounds will host the 25th annual Hub City BBQ Cookoff on October 3, which will feature live music and nearly 100 culinary teams. The event, which will be presented by West Texas Land Guys and hosted by the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

"This event has facilitated the gathering of Lubbock businesses and community members for 25 years to enjoy food and entertainment," stated Robert Wood, a partner at West Texas Land Guys. "We are honored to collaborate with the Chamber in organizing an event that has become an institution in the community."

The official event grocer, United Supermarkets, will provide cooking teams with a variety of categories to compete in, including brisket, pork ribs, beans, Bloody Mary, dessert, and a mysterious challenge. Live performances and exceptional barbecues are available to attendees.The 806 Duo, which includes local favorites, Bo Garza and Jake Pyeatt, will commence the entertainment from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The headliners, Hub City Drifters, will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. The Drifters are renowned for their tributes to West Texas legends and iconic country music.

The registration deadline for BBQ teams is Monday, September 16, and they are required to be members of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce. Tickets must be acquired in advance, as they will not be available for purchase at the gate. A distinct bag policy will be implemented at the event.
