South Plains Enjoys a Cool Thursday, Warmer Weather Ahead Friday

Today, the South Plains and Rolling Plains will see individual rain showers taper off from west to east during the morning. Areas of fog are expected to linger until mid-morning, causing reduced visibility in some locations. As the fog disappears, cloud cover will gradually decrease, making way for partly cloudy skies by early afternoon. Today's highs will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s, and there will be a light northwest wind moving at 5 to 15 mph. There is a 20% chance of rain or snow. At 7:50 AM CST, the sun rose.

Tonight, it will be partly cloudy at first, but overnight it will be mostly cloudy. Lows will stay in the mid-30s to lower-40s, which is still pretty mild. The winds will change direction and speed up to 10 miles per hour. At 5:46 PM CST, the sun goes down.

On Friday, the weather will change. It will be warmer and mostly sunny to partly cloudy. The highs will get up to the middle to upper 60s, making the whole area nice. Winds from the west to the northwest will reach 10 to 20 mph, though. The sun will rise at 7:51 AM CST and go down at 5:47 PM CST. The weekend will be bright and warm.
